Mother Nature must have known how much we were hurting down here. Because not only did we have a COMET, but then AURORA! It was sensory overload - in a great way!
This shot cost me a lot of blood to get. I did get eaten alive by the mosquitoes, but I really loved this "critter" level view to much to let that stop me. As such, there was no room for a tripod. I used rocks to prop it up. This made focus stacking quite difficult, let me tell you! Also, this is one of the few shots where I couldn't use a tracker and also shot wide-angle. So I employed stacking for noise reduction.
